Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know my skin type?

Normal skin is healthy and well hydrated. Normal skin makes enough sebum to hydrate the skin, so, in reality, normal skin is oily skin with just enough sebum production to keep skin healthy.

How to identify normal skin:

  • Fine Pores
  • Good Blood Circulation
  • A velvety soft and smooth texture
  • No blemishes
  • Not prone to sensitivity

Sensitive skin is skin prone to inflammation. People with sensitive skin may have acne, rosacea, or contact dermatitis, a type of red, itchy rash. Sensitive skin may also be especially prone to stinging or burning.

How to identify sensitive skin:

  • The skin may present stains or visual discoloration.
  • Soft skin layers
  • Easily Irritated

The number one sign that you have dry skin is if it appears dull and lifeless. Dry skin looks flat because it is often covered in a layer of dead skin cells.

How to identify dry skin:

  • Mildly dry skin can feel tight, brittle, and rough.
  • Dull look
  • Skin elasticity is low.

The skin secretes natural oils to keep itself moisturized, but this process can go into overdrive for people with oily skin, especially if they have larger pores. These secretions can create an oily film on your face throughout the day, as well as frequent breakouts.

How to identify oily skin:

  • Enlarged, clearly visible pores
  • A glossy shine
  • Thicker, pale skin

Combination skin tends to be oilier in the forehead and nose, where you have more oil glands and drier on the cheeks. Sometimes around the mouth can be both dry and oily and more sensitive in general.

What makes AETHEION® different from other products?

Our Redox Technology makes it unique, and it is a one-of-a-kind production method that is a trade secret. The technology disburses ions and transports the nutrients like no other topical formulation.

What are the anti-aging minerals?

AETHEION® Redox Technology combines the synergistic power of copper and zinc to create a SOD effect that reduces the daily free radicals that damage the skin cells. The AETHEION® Redox Technology comes with 98% pure copper, zinc, and magnesium cations, allowing it to be a perfect redox mechanism for your skin.

Copper Ions

Copper is exceptional for the skin; it is required for collagen production, maintaining the cellular communication of connective tissues and the myelin sheath. It has effects that help heal and protect many body functions, including the circulatory system, bone-muscular, nervous, immune, and reproductive systems. Its topical use has antiseptic, antifungal, and astringent properties. The ability of copper to easily accept and donate electrons explains its important role in oxidation-reduction (redox) to eliminate free radicals.

Zinc Ions

Zinc is a natural mineral and is an essential element for all organisms, acting as a cofactor in more than 300 biochemical reactions, influencing various organic functions that have a secondary effect on the immune system. Zinc plays an essential role in the metabolism of carbohydrates and the synthesis of proteins, contributing to strengthening the immune system and reducing immunological deficiency. Plus, it is crucial for cell multiplication. Two thousand eight hundred proteins in biological systems require zinc to bind with other elements. It is vital for the growth, development, and health of body tissues.

Magnesium Ions

Magnesium is the king of all minerals involved in human biology. Magnesium is required for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body to produce energy and protein functions. It helps maintain normal nerve and muscle function, supports a healthy immune system, and regulates cellular regeneration and repair, increasing recovery when the skin is disturbed. Magnesium is part of the cell’s membrane transport system, which helps exchange sodium and potassium across cell membranes in the skin.

What should I look for in an anti-aging cosmetic product?

It would be best to look for a product that contains natural ingredients and is friendly to all skin types.

What is Redox Technology?

The proprietary Redox Technology used in AETHEION® reduces the skin’s oxidation by transferring electrons from a radical state to a stress-free normal condition. It has the capability of simulating an ionic zinc-copper superoxide dismutase effect.

How can we battle oxidative stress?

There are preventative steps you can take, but ultimately free radicals will occur.

How can we naturally reduce oxidative stress?
  • Regular exercise.
  • Healthy-balanced diet.
  • Don’t smoke, and try to avoid exposure to secondhand smoke.
  • Use caution with chemicals, especially when cleaning or gardening.
  • Protect your skin from the sun. Sunscreen prevents ultraviolet light damage to your skin.
  • Decrease your alcohol consumption.
  • Get plenty of sleep. Sleep is crucial for maintaining balance in all of your body systems.

What is Superoxide Dismutase?

Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is a group of enzymes that catalyze the dismutation of superoxide radicals. It helps break down potentially harmful oxygen molecules in cells. The most prevalent in the human body is Zn/Cu SOD.

What are the types of antioxidants?

Non-enzymatic antioxidants work by interrupting free radical chain reactions. Few examples of non-enzymatic antioxidants are vitamin C, vitamin E, carotene, Qcoenzyme, polyphenols, etc.

What helps our body fight oxidative stress?

Antioxidants. We can find them in a wide range of foods. Antioxidants prevent free radicals from stealing electrons from other molecules in your body.

Antioxidants are reducing agents and limit oxidative damage to biological structures.

Following a diet full of antioxidant-rich foods can help your body fight oxidative stress.

Some foods packed with antioxidants are dark chocolate, pecans, artichokes, blueberries, kale, strawberries, spinach, grapes, apples, etc.

What causes free radicals?

Free radicals are a byproduct of energy consumption in our mitochondria. As we breathe, we can’t help but make free radicals since there are toxins in the air, but many other influences can contribute, such as:

  • Bad diet and eating habits.
  • Alcohol drinking.
  • Smoking or exposure to tobacco smoke.
  • Excessive stress.
  • Excessive exposure to UV rays.
  • Lack of sleep.
  • Over-exercising, too much exercise can increase oxidative stress.

What is oxidative stress?

When free radicals create unstable molecules that attack their neighbors’ “cells” in a domino-like effect, this is what causes cell mutations and the aging process—shown in the form of wrinkles and dark spots on the skin.

Damage occurs when the free radical encounters another molecule and seeks to find another electron to pair with to become more stable. The unpaired electron pulls an electron off a neighboring molecule, causing the affected molecule to behave like a free radical itself — and a chain reaction occurs. The free radicals create more and more unstable molecules that then attack their neighbors in a domino-like effect. The results are unfavorable, and this is what causes aging. We physically notice this in wrinkles, saggy skin, and dark spots on the skin.

Free radical damage is closely associated with oxidative damage.

Oxidation is the process of removing electrons from an atom or molecule.

Electrons commonly exist in pairs, and when they fly solo, they are highly unstable or reactive. In this state, we know them as free radicals.
