Free radicals undergo four primary types of chemical reactions: 

1. Hydrogen abstraction - radicals bind with a hydrogen atom and become stable, whereas the hydrogen donor converts to a free radical. 
2. Addition - the radical binds to another - originally - stable molecule converting the combined molecule into a radical.
3. Termination - Two radicals react with one another to form a stable compound. 
4. Disproportionation - Two identical radicals react with each other. One radical donates an electron to the other to form two stable molecules.
